Nursing Home Negligence may take many forms. In Florida, nursing homes are regulated by The Florida Agency for Health Care Administration and federally by The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The regulations set out by these agencies provide a standard of care to which nursing home facilities and its agents must adhere to.

- Overmedication.

Under New York law, ordinary negligence causes of action are subject to a three-year statute of limitations (time limit to bring a claim) from the date of the incident. However, if the claimant is a minor, the statute of limitations is tolled until the minor reaches the age of 18, meaning they have until their 21st birthday to file a claim.
